30 before 30

It’s my 29th birthday today! I’m not sure how I feel about this. It’s almost like I’d rather be celebrating 30? 29 feels like an end of an era, 30 feels like a new beginning. Anyways, I’m determined to make the final year of my third decade (what) a great one!

In random order, here are 30 things I want to do before I’m 30:

  1. Read 20 books. I’d love your suggestions!

  2. Implement all of the fantastic interior design advice my friend Heather gave me and make our home a place where I feel happy, peaceful and inspired.

  3. Go to the beach….more than once.

  4. Run another half-marathon.

  5. Start my own magazine. (I’ve been saying I want to do this for the past 3 years).

  6. Learn to cook pasta from scratch.

  7. Take Addison to a Broadway show.

  8. Be the matron of honor in my sister’s wedding. (Hooray!)

  9. Write a fan letter to a celebrity I love.

  10. Send birthday cards to family and friends.

  11. Watch the sunrise over the ocean.

  12. Go to a Notre Dame football game with Alex.

  13. Host a fancy holiday party.

  14. Speak at another event.

  15. Call my grandparents once a month.

  16. Plan a girls’ getaway.

  17. Give more. Time, money and stuff.

  18. Make funny videos with the girls.

  19. Go to a drive-in movie.

  20. Get a crazy (for me) hair style.

  21. Spend more weekends unplugged.

  22. Play sand volleyball.

  23. Attend an art class at the Figge Art Museum.

  24. Find a new show obsession with Alex.

  25. Re-watch Friends.

  26. Go to a Bears game with my brothers and Dad.

  27. Go to Chicago with my Mom for a weekend.

  28. Stay up to date with Molly’s Baby Book and Addison’s Big Girl Book. (I love these.)

  29. Learn to play an old piano recital piece by heart again.

  30. Ride a roller coaster.
